Itinerary

Day One – Fly to Delhi

Today you will arrive in Delhi and be met at the airport by a Mountain Quests representative. We will assist with your transfer to your hotel and offer potential sightseeing advice should you arrive in the city early enough. In the evening the whole trekking team will meet to get to know each other and be given a trip briefing.

Day Two – Drive to Naggar

Today is a long day. We will leave Delhi very early (around 5am) after a pre-prepared breakfast, as the journey to Naggar will take between 8-12 hours (traffic depending). We will have many stops along the way, for stretching, snacks and meals. When we arrive in the evening we'll check into our guest house and if there is time, wander through the ancient town of Naggar, complete with a stunning castle.

Day Three – Naggar to Rumsu, Trek to Ganachalani

After breakfast we’ll be driven 10km to Rumsu where we start our trek. We shall walk for about 3-4 hours to reach the campsite at Ganachalani. We will be hiking through coniferous forests full of Deodar and pine trees for almost the entire day. Then we will relax and have dinner at our campsite.

Day Four – Trek to Celanti

We continue up the trail today with the forests thinning out as we get higher. The views of the glaciers of the Bara Benghal range are breathtaking. Then we camp as close to the pass as possible depending on snow conditions. We'll spend the evening watching sunset and relaxing together getting ready for tomorrow's excitement.

Day Five – Trek to Nagroni over Chanderkhani Pass (3660m)

An early morning start today (around 5am). We will get to the pass within the first hour of the trek. Atop the pass we’ll have a panoramic view of the upper Malana valley, Ghalpo peak in La- haul as well as the snow-capped Himalaya Range rising above the Parvati valley. We then trek along the ridge to our campsite at Nagroni. It is a beautiful campsite with unforgettable views of the Malana glacier. We will be tired after the early start to the day, so expect an early night after a great evening meal.

Day Six – Trek to Malana

After breakfast we will trek for 4 hours to Malana. Malana is an ancient village that is famous for its unique culture and history. The inhabitants consider themselves to be direct descendants of Alexander the Great and have a unique language and social structure. The village has strict rules regarding leather that we need to adhere to. This will be our last evening to enjoy in the mountains.

Day Seven – Drive to Bhuntar and on to Delhi

Today we will walk half an hour down the road right below Malana village where a vehicle will be waiting to take you back to Jari and onwards to Bhuntar in time to catch our bus back to Delhi. A long return journey awaits us and we will expect to be back in Delhi early tomorrow morning.

Day 8 - Day in Delhi, fly home

We will check into our hotel as soon as we arrive in Delhi, to get some much needed sleep. After refreshing ourselves the rest of the day is your own to go sightseeing, before we assist you in getting to the international airport to fly home. We've loved having you with us on the beautiful trek.
